CraftOberfest Cancelled

E-mail Print PDF

Well, we tried... Although our concept for an awesome American inspired Octoberfest event sounded like a great plan, we hit the public with this perhaps a little too late. Due to lack of interest and competition with many other great festivals occuring on the same date we have made the decision to cancel the CraftOberfest.  Be sure to continue your support of the General Lafayette by going there anytime during their normal business hours and sampling their great beers.

With that said, we are still having our annual Brews For Boobies pub crawl on Saturday, October 3rd.

And, you can find us at other events occuring on Saturday, October 10th such as:

Announcing Brews For Boobies 2

E-mail Print PDF

Philly Beer Scene is proud to announce the details of its second annual Brews For Boobies pub crawl. Last year, we had such an incredible response to this event that we decided to do two totally unique crawls in Philly on the same day, during the same times. This way, you get to choose which crawl best fits you and each will be captained by members of Philly Beer Scene. So come spend the day with us in support of the American Breast Cancer Foundation.

Mike Hiller at our Beer Dinner?

E-mail Print PDF

I just found out today that Mike Hiller, brewmaster and owner of Bavarian Barbarian will be joining us for our Bavarian Barbarian Craft Beer Dinner at the Buck Hotel on Wednesday, October 21, 2009.

You may recall that we did a feature on Mike and his brewery in the most recent issue of Philly Beer Scene (click here).  He will be making the trip from Williamsport, PA to dine with our guests and talk about his beers.  Be sure to get your tickets as this monthly event has been growing more and more each month.  We are expecting this to sell out far in advance!

Another New Brewery to the Area

E-mail Print PDF
Philadelphia continues to show its dominance in the beer market, as it is about to add another new brewery to the area.  On September 8th, Philadelphians are finally going to get their first tries of Terrapin Brewery out of Athens, Georgia.  Not sure what beers they're bringing with them for the launch, but I know at least the Big Hoppy Monster will be here from the start.
